Description

Morning work, bell work or MORNING WAKE UP - regardless of what you call it, it is important to get your little rascals’ brains engaged as soon as your day begins.
Reviewing and practicing concepts learned in both ELA  (reading, writing, grammar, spelling & phonics) and MATH allows for a depth of understanding and mastery of skills. Direct and prior instruction in imperative. Practice with repetition over time helps cement that new learning. MORNING WAKE UP is here to help with that!

This is NOT a digital resource. We have it printed into a student workbook and send it home with our distance learning students. You could also send home copies of the pages in your work packets. We work with our Morning Wake Up each day with our kiddos during our virtual lessons as covers so many essential standards each day.

The HUGE student workbook provides students an opportunity to review and practice first grade skills and standards. It is aligned to common core. Every section on each page is noted with its key common core standard. While spiral in nature, MORNING WAKE UP builds in difficulty with each page.

These pages are student tested and approved! My team and I have used MORNING WAKE UP for many, many years, and have been thrilled with our students' retention of new concepts. I've created it for our first graders, but it works well with high kinders and is perfect for review with 2nd graders.

Combine the pages into a student workbook, or distribute the pages daily as worksheets.

This product also includes a Teacher's Handbook with notes and suggestions for the best way to utilize this in your classroom and how it can be coupled with direct instruction. A scope and sequence for the entire book is included.

This resource's pacing is aligned with McGraw-Hill's Wonders Reading resource. However, it is not necessary to use that resource in your classroom to work with Morning Wake Up. It is a stand-alone resource.
