Description

Students need to develop a strong number sense. They need to understand place value, number comparison, and algebraic thinking for a deeper level of comprehension. I use these math mats daily so students can become familiar with the standard, written, and expanded forms. I included a number line because I like my students to use one fluidly. A student should understand the value of a number in many different ways.
