10-Month Math Calendar
Daily math prompts
Aligned to Common Core Standards
Grade 3
This document has a calendar for each month September-June.
Each calendar has 20 unlabeled boxes so each box can be used at the teacher or students discretion. I let my students select a box of their choice and lightly color the box with a crayon and date the box on the day it was completed. My students do this work daily in the math notebook. For this activity, the current calendar is taped to the front of their math notebook or placed in a math folder. Their notebook is set up with the date and the title of “Daily Math,” or “Math Warm-up.” They are to write the question in their notebook and solve it completely. Each calendar is a progression of math topics as you move through the Third Grade Curriculum.
It includes: Place value, comparing and ordering numbers, addition with/without regrouping, subtraction with/without regrouping, estimating through thousands, finding the rule, skip counting, time, money, multiplication, division, fractions, word problems, math properties, fact families, geometry, area, perimeter, comparing and ordering fractions, least common denominator, measurement (inches, cm etc…), capacity, graphing.
THIS PACKET HAS THE MONTHS SPECIFIED. EACH MONTH PROGRESSES THROUGH THE GRADE 3 MATH CURRICULUM. This means fractions will be more towards December and January because other skills and concepts are taught before.
