Description

This google doc provides you with 4 weeks of school (March) 45-minute lesson plans for a March Madness Book Tournament:

  • Kindergarten
  • First Grade
  • Second Grade
  • Third Grade
  • Fourth Grade
  • Fifth Grade

Books needed for these lessons: This months lesson focuses on March Madness

  • Legend of Rock Paper Scissors by Daywalt
  • After the Fall by Santat
  • The Day You Begin by Woodson
  • Alma and How She Got Her Name by Martinez-Neil
  • The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig
  • What If… by Berger
  • Gaston  by DiPucchio
  • Last Stop on Market Street by Matt de la Peña

The google doc is editable, so you could change books easily. I teach on a busy fixed schedule so I like to keep my plans simple. This is the reason I normally read the same book to more than one grade level. Plus, the more I read it the better I get!
