Description
This digital breakout is aligned to the new GSE SS8H12. This product can be used for enrichment or as a creative way for students to gather notes.
This virtual scavenger hunt has students working collaboratively & problem-solve. It is student-led and students WILL struggle to find answers! The goal is for them to work together and communicate effectively as a team to figure out the codes. Students will use various links to solve the codes. The codes for this game are embedded in websites, puzzles, videos, maps and color-coded question/answer forms.
This digital breakout requires a digital device (iPad, laptop, Chrome Book etc.), internet access, access to google forms/sheets/drives (you can make a dummy account for students who do not have a google account) but does not require any physical breakout boxes or locks.
This activity can take anywhere from one to several days depending on your students and how you use the activity. Suggested uses are included in the Teacher Instructions in the purchased product.
This product includes:
-2 Digital Breakout Games: Ga Transportation Systems & AVID College-Themed (to use as an example for students who are not familiar with Digital Breakouts). Just give students the link and they can get started!
-An answer key for both breakouts
-Teacher Facilitation instructions
-Hint Card templates & video to explain how hint cards are to be used
-Debrief Questions
-Game Day PowerPoint
**NOTES:
-This is based on Google sites, you will need to sign into a google account when you use the template.
-I HIGHLY recommend working through this before giving it to your students so you can best assist them. Additionally, it isn't often but sometimes links are removed without my knowledge, testing ahead of time allows you flexibility to let me know so I can make the correction ASAP.
-If you are teaching students who need additional scaffolding, I recommend helping them find an answer or two to start them off. I have done these breakouts with all learning levels of students. The key is to scaffold the product for the needs of your students, which is why I recommend working through it yourself first to identify those needs.
