Learning how to change a mixed number to an Improper fraction with an animated video

This is a short video (2 minutes) that shows students how to change a mixed number to ann improper fraction by using a memorable mnemonic. This video will ensure that students will remember to multiply and then add and not forget to keep the denominator the same.
This video is great for English learners and students with learning disabilities because there are only a few words to read, the graphic and the sound effects will do most of the explaining. The video is short enough so that you can have your students watch it several times in class.
The video works best when you play it with no front loading. Let the students try to figure out the math on their own and then verbalize to a partner. Prior to the second example tell the students to try to come up with the answer before the video shows it to them. Before the third example pause the video and have students pair share what they think the correct answer will be. I like to pause the video and point out important parts as the video is playing.
The video is in mp4 format
