What educators are saying
We had a STEM Day. We had kindergarten thru second grade rotate classrooms and do STEM activities. This is one of the prjoects we did. The students loved creating the towers! They even enjoyed a few marshmallows too! What a fun activity.
Perfect alternative for holiday activities. Students loved this and I was able to use curriculum standards to support this activity.
Description
Students use toothpicks and mini marshmallows to do this STEM activity and create the largest tower they can in 20 minutes.
They can plan with a partner or work independently. Students will then try and execute the plan they engineered. They will explore what went well and what they would do differently next time.
