Description

I am an Intervention Specialist and use this broken down approach with my 9th and 10th graders. My co-teachers use RASC (Restate, Answer, Support, Conclude) in their classrooms also, but do not go into as much detail. This would be a great resource for upper elementary students, middle school students, as well as students with disabilities of any grade level.

This RASC format has taught my students how to turn a one-word response into a minimal of four sentences. In this resource, you will receive a packet that you can literally print and walk students through each step of RASC. It gives sample questions and restatements so students can see that every question is able to be restated. This resource also goes step-by-step through each piece of RASC separately. There are many opportunities for students to practice each step throughout as well with an extra emphasis on the "R" since my students struggled the most with restating.

It is a great resource that will introduce students to a specific writing style and better prepare them for end of course exam written response questions.
