An Introduction to Patricia St. John and Her Writing
The guide contains ten sections; these components are included:
- vocabulary activities
- discussion questions
- reading activities: Students will: list three facts from a reading, fill in a Culture Chart, match similes, fill in Venn Diagrams, predict (and verify predictions), and create a Wordless book. Students will learn about: opposite concepts, contrasting feelings, irony, metaphor, idiom, point of view, theme, analogy, and adjectives.

Although this product is part of the Christmas Classics guide series, the story can be read, studied, and enjoyed at any time of the year.
This is an interactive guide that enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of the book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using this guide with more than one student, check out the options:
1) Mini-Guide for Juniors: Star of Light Reproducibles
- The reproducibles contain all of the fill-in-the-blank activities. If a section of the guide does not contain fill-in-the-blank activities, that section will not be included in the reproducibles.
- When you purchase one set of reproducibles, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
- An Answer Key is NOT provided for the reproducibles; the answers for the activities on the reproducibles are found at the end of the mini-guide.
2) Mini-Guide for Juniors: Star of Light Workbook
- The content of the guide in interactive format and the guide in workbook format is the same; the only difference is spacing.
