Description

Middle School vocabulary activities for the third nine weeks. Weekly practice with this pack of vocabulary lists, activities, and tests for the third quarter, designed to be used with grades 6 - 8, but can also be used with older students. There is a final self-grading Easel Assessment. Vocabulary enrichment made easy for you! Ready for back to school, assessment editable for differentiation. Contains 30 pages of vocabulary activities. Weekly vocabulary lists, Weekly classwork or homework practice and vocabulary activities, a Homework-Classwork checklist, and weekly tests with answer keys. There are 9 weekly assignments for the 3rd quarter. The final test covers all of the words, Greek and Latin roots, and suffixes studied over the 9 weeks grading period, and includes a self-grading Easel Assessment, which also gives you data on your students' performance.

The words selected are those most often seen on standardized tests. The first list focuses on root words and affixes. Students can use this as independent work to expand their vocabulary and learn the parts of speech as well.

Just print out the handout and give to students at the beginning of the week, check off their homework (or classwork) practice as they complete the activities, and give them the test on Friday. Have everything ready to go at the beginning of the year. The vocabulary is challenging enough to provide the rigor required by the CCSS. Please see full preview.
