This activity is similar to Mad Libs™, but created with you and your students in mind! Get ready to show them you have an awesome sense of humor because YOU AND YOUR STUDENTS ARE THE MAIN CHARACTERS in this silly story about an old abandoned school haunted by their spooky teacher! In this fun Halloween activity, your ELA students will be practicing nouns, adjectives, verbs, interjections, prepositions, idioms, present participles, and more!

This Halloween Mad Libs™ style activity has two parts plus a bonus PARTS OF SPEECH GRAPHIC ORGANIZER:

• The first page is a list of PARTS OF SPEECH: students will have to fill in words for every blank on the page
• The second page is the silly HALLOWEEN STORY: students will then take the words they filled out on the first page and fill them in on the second page. This will create a silly story they can read aloud to each other. Always brings the giggles!
• ALSO INCLUDED is a BONUS PARTS OF SPEECH review sheet that students can keep in their binders all year! (There is also a list of examples for -ing verbs (present participles), interjections, prepositions, and idioms. Students sometimes have trouble thinking of examples for these categories).
