Description

Spruce up your classroom library with this elegant set of graphical genre labels! These labels and sign will inspire your middle school students as they browse your classroom library and empower them to choose books that fit their interests.

Upper elementary and middle school readers discover a wealth of new sub-genres as the texts they enjoy become increasingly complex. I've used these signs in for years in my 6th and 7th grade classrooms to guide students to "just right books" and help them understand their preferred genres.

This classroom library resource includes:

  • 28 printable mini sub-genre labels (1/8 page)
  • 48 printable book bin genre labels (1/4 page)
  • 1 instructive "What Genre is my Book?" handout/poster

I recommend printing these on multicolored paper to color-code your library for ease of use and an stunning visual effect.
