Mesopotamia Narrative Writing Task - GOOGLE DRIVE Digital Slides & Print Ready!
Description
This is a no-prep, ready-to-go Google Drive assignment that allows students to research a high-interest topic and write about a day in the life of a scribe in Ancient Mesopotamia! Simply assign it to students in Google Classroom and you're ready to go!
This resource was designed to be used during a middle school Ancient World History unit on River Civilizations. While teaching about Mesopotamia, I have found that students really enjoy learning about the history of writing and what real examples actually looked like. In this narrative writing assignment, students will research what daily life was like in Ancient Mesopotamia, learn about the job of a scribe, and write a journal entry. Extension ideas for early finishers are also included for a little extra fun!
In this Google Slides interactive writing task, students will pretend to be a scribe from Ancient Mesopotamia. Students will research and use several Internet resources to learn about daily life in Mesopotamia and the life of a scribe. Students will answer questions about each source and then write a journal entry about "their" daily life as a scribe. Students will be encouraged to be creative while also using evidence from their research to remain accurate!
