Description
This bundle of new TEKS aligned mentor sentence units is a whole year purposeful instruction that blends explicit instruction of grammar skills with hands-on sentence building and constructing. Students analyze sentences, learn new grammar skills, revise and create sentences following specific structures.

Day One: Sentence strips to cut and glue into a notebook
Day Two: Grammar hunt tables to cut and glue into a notebook
Day Three: Word/phrase cards to cut out and manipulate, and a handout to practice the skill (with answer key included)
Day Four: Dictation - what do we check for?
Day Five: Sample sentences to use as models and either a 3-5 question quiz (Unites 1, 2, and 3) or a try-it so students can apply the figurative language in their own writing (Unit 4)

- Week One: Simple sentence: subject, predicate, and parts of speech
