Description

A set of 32 differentiated measurement task cards to support CCS 4.MD.1 and perfect differentiation for CCS 5.MD.1 and review for other grade levels. Engage your students with this hands-on math activity that is just so easy to differentiate.

This resource includes a printable version as well as a digital, interactive version in Google Slides.

The first 16 cards require students to show their knowledge of relative sizes of measurements and basic conversion. The second 16 cards (17-32) have students using a two-sided chart to convert measurements for short story problems.

*Task Cards on Pages 7-10 have guiding numbers for students to use, but the cards on pages 15-18 are IDENTICAL other than the fact that they have NO numbers. Use these for differentiation!

*Answer Key & 2 Different Recording Sheets included.

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
