Mean Jean the Recess Queen Reader Response (differentiated for K/1 Combo Class!)

In this download, you will receive two response sheets to accompany the book "The Recess Queen" by Alexis O'Neill. One sheet cover "Who, What, Where, When"(Common Core Standard RL.1.3. Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.) and one sheet covers just the characters in the story (Common Core Standard RL.K.3. With prompting and support, identify characters, settings, and major events in a story.)

I used this during the first week of school in my kindergarten and first grade combination class. The kinders were only ready to focus on characters, whereas the first graders were ready to look at characters, events, and setting.
