Description
⭐️Great MINI-MATH COMPETITION / SPECIAL DAY / for a SUB
A PROGRESSIVE PUZZLE is a set of puzzles that must be solved in sequential order. The solution to the first puzzle is needed in order to solve the next puzzle, and this continues with each successive puzzle. Students will use a variety of critical reading and thinking skills as they work their way from one puzzle to the next. All four puzzles can be printed on one page as two-sided copies.
This first MATH and LOGIC progressive puzzle has a Fibonacci theme, a great supplement to other activities you may do with the Fibonacci sequence, but also perfect for a substitute or as a fun small group contest in your classroom. The puzzles are (1) a cross-number puzzle, (2) a shape equations puzzle, (3) a hexagonal Sudoku, and (4) a cryptogram.
The TEACHER PAGE includes links to puzzle tutorials, so your students can learn how to solve puzzles that are new to them. Tips and solutions are also included. If students have been introduced to the puzzles, they only need basic computational and logical thinking skills to complete the activities.
