Description

I don't know about you, but my students struggle with math word problems. They need more practice, but I could not find anything in Spanish! So, I've created 124 word problems in Spanish to give them the extra practice they need!

Included:

- 124 1/2 page story problem cards (including single, double, and triple-digit addition and subtraction, missing addends, three addends, comparisons, extra information,and time problems)
- 1/2 page response cards
- all answers (including equations and labels)
- number grid for students and/or teachers to keep track of which problems have been completed
- blank card for you to customize your own problems

I turned it into a game and awarded points when they completed problems. They LOVE it! Their problem-solving, math comprehension, and computation skills improved greatly after working on these. I hope these help your students (and you!) too!

* Completely in Spanish
* Aligned with CCSS
* Great companion to Houghton Mifflin's Math Expressions (but would work well with many curriculum)
* Problems are from 1st and 2nd grade content, but would be great for a review for older students or with support for younger students

Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.
Understand that the three digits of a three-digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g., 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones. Understand the following as special cases:
Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
