Are you trying to integrate subjects with Common Core?
This is the perfect way to integrate math, reading and writing (and many times-social studies)!
One of my guided math groups is called "math literacy". I put a children's book, math literacy card and cute stationary in a bag. Students read the book (individually), that's based on a math standard, and respond to the prompt. This set is geared toward measurement standards. Included are 12 cards. I have also included a list of books you will need and their guided reading levels (ranging from J to S). I get many of my books from the public library or our school's media center.
The math literacy cards are based on the following books:
Spaghetti and Meatballs for All
Millions to measure
How Long and How Wide?
Racing Around
Measuring Penny
Me and the Measure of Things
Mighty Maddie
Cock-A-Doodle-Do
Super Sand Castle Saturday
How Big is a Foot?
Counting on Frank
The Librarian Who Measured the Earth
You will need to check out the books, print the cards on card stock and laminate for durability, put them in a bag and you're ready to go!
I hope you enjoy them as much as my kiddos and I have!
Check out my literacy cards on TPT.
Thanks for stopping by!
