Description

Looking for MLK images suitable for secondary students?

These photos of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are in the public domain. I've modified them by making the edges look worn, and, in some cases slightly torn. I also gave them a little dimension by making them look thicker at the edges and adding a drop shadow. This eliminates that cheap, clip-art look you can sometimes get when using photos. There's no comparing using photos like these that pop with dimension and using flat, plain images. Check out the preview to see what I mean. If you're looking for something for older students that isn't quite so "cute" but that still has more visual appeal than a flat photo, these may be what you're looking for, though they could certainly be used for any age. These would be great for Black History Month, or whenever you teach about Dr. King, the Civil Rights movement, or any of the related literature.

You will receive the following:

- MLK meeting with LBJ at the signing of the Civil Rights Act
- MLK with Coretta Scott King
- MLK with Malcolm X
- MLK and other civil rights leaders (Whitney Young, James Farmer) meeting with President Lyndon Johnson
- MLK showing the medallion he received from Mayor Wagner
- MLK speaking at a press conference
- MLK and President Johnson at the White House
- Portrait of MLK
- Photo of MLK (I'm not sure of the occasion)
- Tomb of MLK engraved with his name the dates 1929-1968, and the words "Free at last, Free at Last, Thank God Almighty, I'm Free at last."

These are all individual, high-quality, transparent PNG files.
