Description

If your kids are learning how spring or neap tides impact marine life, then this resource is a good tool to have. Your kids will learn how grey reef sharks, zooplankton, corals, Cladocerans, horseshoe crabs, and sand dune vegetation all depend on either spring, or neap tides for survival. Here's how this lesson would go:

  • Teacher uses the answer review Google Slides presentation to explain the assignment rules to the class, and starts the YouTube timer to pace the lesson as the kids work. Kids can work in pairs, but typically with webquests I have them work individually.
  • Once time is up, students submit work to an online assignment (say on Schoology)
  • Teacher uses the animated group Google Slides presentation to review all answers, using the animations to call on and question the students to increase engagement and assess student mastery. Students make corrections as needed to their work during the review.
  • Lastly, after performing corrections, students submit the work to the same Schoology assignment (I am pretty sure you an also do this in Google Classroom, and other LMS's). I really like this method, as it holds the kids accountable, and they get the content 2 times.
