March Roars in like a lion, a project to welcome spring.

Less, more and most experienced students will enjoy creating a tessellation lion. The simplest art materials are needed. This is a great cutting project for less experienced students. A great ruler/straight edge lesson for more and most experienced students.
M.C. Escher one of the world’s most popular artists created many imaginative tessellation prints.
Tessellations are pattern arrangements of repeating shapes that fit perfectly together without gaps or overlap. Math and science are related to the visual arts.
A lesson plan, 2 color samples of a finished lion, a template for the layout of the roaring lion, and a “Meet the Artist” page, are included.
