Description

This activity is a fun NO PREP activity to do before the events of the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament begins on March 17th with Selection Sunday. There is a digital resource (Google Document) and a printable resource (Canva) that contain the same directions and activity. This was designed for students in middle school, but could be used for upper elementary and high school students. In this assignment, students are asked to research statistics about a Men's College Basketball Team and individual offensive and defensive players to evaluate which team should be placed at a #1 seed. After they find the statistics, they are asked several reflection questions to process through their research before formulating a Claim Evidence Reasoning response to defend their opinion about which team should be a #1 seed in the tournament.

**On Selection Sunday, a new version of this same task will be posted with the bracket seeds added into the process.
