Description

Making predictions worksheets teach preschool, kindergarten and elementary school children to make simple predictions about a story being read based on short reading passages, pictures and book titles - 25 making predictions activities for students (or children in the homeschool setting) to practice drawing conclusions and making inferences based on text evidence, book titles and illustrations on the inside or front cover of a book (no reading or writing required).

An important pre-reading, pre-writing preschool early learning skill and kindergarten readiness skill is that children should be able to make simple predictions about a story being read. Students do NOT need to be able to read or write to enjoy these 25 activities. Parents or teachers simply share the illustration or read aloud the short reading passages or book titles and ask children to make a prediction about what might happen next or what might happen in the book. Adults can choose to write down what children say but this is optional. The goal is for students to practice making predictions, drawing conclusions and making inferences from pictures, text excerpts or book titles. These 25 no prep printable activities make preschool reading comprehension, inferencing, and early literacy skills fun and easy.
