What educators are saying

I love using theses as bell ringers at the beginning of class. My students have struggled with using evidence and this is a great way to practice!

The independent practice includes 30 paintings and 30 photographs to be used over the course of 2 - 10 no prep lessons (depending on timing/pacing), for students to practice making inferences from implied or implicit evidence and analyzing what they can see directly from explicit evidence.

Bonus Lessons: Both lessons contains 30 images to analyze for independent practice, in addition to one bell ringer image. You will likely not have time to analyze all 30 images in each lesson in one class period. Depending on the amount of time you have and the speed of student work, choose 3 - 10 images you like the best or go in order to get through as many images as your students have time for in one class period. With 60 total images, this can be used for 2 - 10 no prep lessons (depending on time constraints and pacing). For bonus lessons, choose a new image to analyze for the bell ringer and simply copy and paste your chosen image onto the bell ringer section of the slides and/or documents. Then use the remaining unused images for students to analyze for independent practice.

    Google Classroom or Classroom Use:

Both products in this bundle include a Google Doc and Google Slides for Google Classroom use along with PowerPoint slides and handouts for a traditional classroom lesson.

There are two versions of the handout - one with images and one without. While displaying the 30 independent practice images on the PowerPoint, you can choose to give students the independent practice handouts that do not contain images or print and cut the relevant half page handouts that do contain relevant images. This option will allow students to more easily work independently at their own pace since they will not rely on viewing the images on the PowerPoint slides.

    Lifelong Tool:

Reuse the editable mini lesson and Independent practice handout with ANY image for repeated, spiraled practice and assessment of Grade 6 - 12 Reading Literature and Reading Informational Texts Standard #1. This is a lifelong tool!
