Description

This single worksheet can be used in a variety of different ways. In my classroom, I have used to it to introduce the reading strategy, close reading, reciprocal teaching groups, guided reading groups, reading stations, reading rotations, partner work, assessments, anchor chart and a graphic organizer. It helps the students get through the necessary steps with probing questions that lead them into their final conclusion.

The best part about this worksheet is that it can be paired with ANY TEXT! It provides a definition of the skill at the top of the worksheet. It then asks a series of questions that help the students pull the important information from the text. It focuses on finding evidence to your answer and supporting your thinking with evidenced from the text.

As the year progresses, I display the anchor chart digitally with my projector and the students use it as an anchor chart. They now can sort their thinking on their own and use the worksheet to guide them step by step.

Check out my other Reading Strategy Skills in my store that are a great addition to this one!
