Description

This product was designed to help students self-check their writing in MLA format after researching a topic. This is also set up for student peer-editors. It has an extra page just for the teacher to check over it as well.

After searching all over the web for something my 6th graders could handle, I finally decided to make my own version of what I was specifically looking for, without being centered on just content. This was focused more on formatting, works cited, citations, and avoiding plagiarism.

The checklist includes the following criteria;

  • Heading (name, teacher's name, class, and date)
  • Last Name + Page Number
  • MLA Basics (12point font, Times New Romans, 1" Margins, Double Spaced)
  • Title
  • Paragraphs + Indentions
  • Works Cited
  • In-Text Citations
  • Other Formatting
  • Basic Conventions
  • Plagiarism
