Description
⭐️ Based on an actual criminal case ~ a novel puzzle set for Valentine’s Day!
A PROGRESSIVE PUZZLE is a set of puzzles that must be solved in sequential order. The solution to the first puzzle is needed in order to solve the next puzzle, and this continues with each successive puzzle. Students will use a variety of critical reading and thinking skills as they work their way from one puzzle to the next. All four puzzles can be printed on one page as two-sided copies.
This Mini-Mystery progressive puzzle is based on an actual case that occurred in Texas in which a vandal painted hearts on storefront windows. Students “crack the case” a little at a time as they solve the puzzles, eventually identifying the vandal who is responsible. At the end, a password opens up a webpage that tells “the rest of the story” and reveals the culprit. A novel activity to present during the week of Valentine’s Day, this set includes the following puzzles: (1) a split-pairs word puzzle, (2) a “dizzying directions” puzzle, (3) a logic puzzle, and (4) a fallen phrase puzzle.
The TEACHER PAGE includes links to puzzle tutorials, so you and your students can learn how to solve puzzles that are new to you. Tips and solutions are also included.
