What educators are saying

We discovered progressive puzzles at the end of the school year and my students couldn't get enough of them!
I need more of these! Please keep making them. Great resource. My students loved it and it was easy to prepare!

Description

PROGRESSIVE PUZZLE is a set of puzzles that must be solved in sequential order. The solution to the first puzzle is needed in order to solve the next puzzle, and this continues with each successive puzzle. Students will use a variety of critical reading and thinking skills as they work their way from one puzzle to the next

This Mini-Mystery puzzle set is a fun “crack-the-case” problem-solving activity that can be used at any time of the year! In “Ransomed Ruby in the Ratatouille,” a diner at a cafe finds a valuable gem in his stew. The police are called in to investigate and clues are revealed as students solve the puzzles. The case is solved when the solutions from all four puzzles are used to identify the culprit.

All four puzzles can be printed on one page as two-sided copies and links to tutorials are included in case students are not familiar with any of the puzzle formats. The puzzles are: (1) a logic puzzle, (2) a dizzying directions puzzle, (3) an alphabox or alpha-griddle puzzle, and (4) a fallen phrase puzzle, followed by a math equation. Students are able to solve the case when they’ve completed all of these challenges.

The TEACHER PAGE includes links to puzzle tutorials, so your students can learn how to solve puzzles that are new to them. Tips and solutions are also included and students will enjoy seeing the solution revealed when they unlock a password-protected page.
