What educators are saying

I love the challenge that these resources provide! My students were very motivated and didn't want to stop (even though class time was over).
I love all the progressive puzzles that you have created. They are just challenging enough for most of my gifted students that it really engages them for a good amount of time.

Description

A PROGRESSIVE PUZZLE is a set of puzzles that must be solved in sequential order. The solution to the first puzzle is needed in order to solve the next puzzle, and this continues with each successive puzzle. Students will use a variety of critical reading and thinking skills as they work their way from one puzzle to the next. All four puzzles can be printed on one page as two-sided copies.

This Mini-Mystery puzzle set is a fun “crack-the-case” problem-solving activity that can be used at any time of the year! In the “Prize in a Purloined Purse,” a woman’s purse has been stolen, and inside is a winning lottery ticket. The case is solved when the thief attempts to cash in the ticket.

The puzzles are: (1) an alphabox or alpha-griddle puzzle; (2) a fallen phrase puzzle, (3) a hexagonal Sudoku puzzle, and (4) a math clues puzzle. After solving the four puzzles, students have the information needed to solve the case.

The TEACHER PAGE includes links to puzzle tutorials, so your students can learn how to solve puzzles that are new to them. Tips and solutions are also included and students will enjoy seeing the solution revealed when they unlock a password-protected page.
