Description

What's an Agamograph? A picture that changes from one to another when you look at it from a different angle. It's hard to say but easy to do! They are super fun, unique activities to easily integrate art into your classroom this Earth Day. They are engaging for students, easy for teachers, and have a high 'Wow!' factor. So, this year, try it out and add a new "twist" to your Earth Day activities!

This resource was created for Earth Day, but Earth Day is really every day...so this is a useful resource throughout your school year. This is great for any lesson on recycling.

I have created an image of the earth that morphs into a recycling symbol and another image of raindrops that morphs into a tree!

I have also included an instruction/teaching video in this resource so you (and your students) can see how to it is done. And, really, it is super easy!

There is a lot of "wow factor" in this art activity--the students love the surprise. And best of all, they did it themselves!! Use this activity for your anticipatory set or as a final art project at the end of your unit on Earth Day. I promise that it is easier than it seems!

I, Art with Jenny K., am the original innovator of agamograph templates of this kind. I made agamographs—previously a lesson only art teachers would dare to try—into something doable for classroom teachers and students. Innovation is often copied once complex problems are solved. You will now find many TPT sellers creating templates for agamographs. However, I am proud to have originated this idea and first introduced this to the TPT community in 2015. Thank you for supporting my efforts to always bring innovative art integration ideas to classrooms.

I have already spliced together the images making up these agamographs and each space in them has been assigned a color. Students color them and then fold them. Once the agamograph is completed, students can rock it from side to side, or, if you hang them on the wall, they can walk from one side of the artwork to the other... and watch it change!!

I have also included Earth Day appropriate writing prompts and instructions on how to include them in your final display.
