Description

I created this unit with some of my struggling students in mind. These students have a difficult time following along with a story, identifying characters and setting, and describing details about the story. I use these setting pictures to help them focus on these skills, build language, and practice paying attention to details. These pictures are also good to practice answering questions, making predictions, writing about what you see, and many more options.

In this unit, you will find 10 different pictures. Each picture is followed by a group of cards. These cards contain objects that go along with the picture (such as a lantern for the camping picture) and pictures that do not belong (such as an igloo for the beach picture). Students sort the pictures and place the pictures that belong on the setting and pictures that do not belong on the trash can.

There is also recording sheet activity for students to color in yes or no after a question and circle things found in the picture.

As an extension, students can use the vocabulary page to help them draw and write about what they think happens next.

I have also included some possible questions to get students thinking about the picture and practice answering questions.

Please check out the preview file to see a closer look at what is included.

Thanks,
Angelia
