What educators are saying

Really good starting point for U.S. government class when discussing lobbies and interest groups. Helped provide background knowledge for a somewhat complex topic.

Description

Each day it becomes more and more important for students to understand how policies are set, laws are passed, and how people are represented. This lesson teaches the means and purposes of special interest groups (PACS) in politics through discussion questions, images, video links (Youtube), and a set of guided notes. The lesson culminates in a creative research assignment that students can complete in-class where they research a special interest group and illustrate that group's mission.

Whether you're teaching U.S. Government, Current Events, or Civics, this is an engaging way to show the underlying gears of our society! The presentation plus the political flyer assignment at the end totals about 60 minutes worth of classroom content.
