What educators are saying

I loved this resource!! It worked perfectly for a week and a half of my 30 minute science block. The writing activity after the short read was a great way to get their minds thinking deeper.

Description

This living and nonliving short science articles are just what you need to accompany your science lessons and provide actual text for your students to read during whole group or small group.

In this unit, you will find these 7 short science texts:

Living or Nonliving?
What do living things need?
Living things grow and change.
Living things need other living things.
Do all living things move?
Living things reproduce.
What about nonliving things?

Each short science read, also includes exit tickets, diagrams, and vocabulary cards (if needed for that text).

If you would like to see a sample of these science short reads, please check out my freebie:

Do all living things move?

These science texts are excellent to use for first and second grade students.

Many of these pages DO include color photographs. If you do not have a color printer, you could print this in black and white but display the color page with your projector. Other teacher tips are included in the preview file.
