Description

“Summertime, Summertime” action song with reading and creative writing activities and coloring sheets to help students with summer word vocabulary and learn the song.

Connect learning with movement actions. Students will swim, jump, surf, paddle, dig, fish, hike, and run along with animal friends.

The writing activities can help your students get back into swing of reading and writing through singing and moving!

Supports PreK-3rd Grade Reading Standards.

The literacy activities include matching vocabulary words, writing prompts, and coloring sheets for each action in the song.

CONNECT TO STUDENTS:

  • Your students will love the fun actions! You’ll be able to have them singing and moving together and practicing reading. These kinds of activities can help you build classroom community too!
  • Singing the song, reading the lyrics, and doing some of the literacy activities, will provide you the opportunity to learn all about your student’s summertime activities.
  • Making these connections is so important at the beginning of the school year. Use the song to have conversations about each student’s summer activities.
  • You’ll be able to learn about your students as you integrate the song, movement, and literacy activities into your first weeks of school.
