Description

The Linear Clock Printable

What's included in this .pdf packet

  • Linear Clock instruction sheet
  • Linear clock page
  • 4 pages of boxes with red arrows to cut out and laminate
  • Days of the week to cut out and laminate

I recommend printing on cardstock and laminating. Cut out the arrow boxes and days of the week. Use double stick tape to affix the arrow boxes to different points in the timeline, and use dry erase marker or sharpie to write on the arrow boxes, as well as labeling the date on the page. (rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer will remove the sharpie).

This linear clock is great for people who struggle with the concept of time, and who have difficulty with gauging how much time has passed. This is a timeline to show a visual of how much space there is between events. By seeing the entire day from morning to night on one page, it is easier to see and prepare for approaching appointments.

Many Autistic people struggle with Analog clocks, and how much time is left before the next hour/appointment etc. This visual aid will help your neurodiverse students plan ahead.

For the student who is unfamiliar with the vocabulary and the structure of a day, I have labelled common terms for parts of the day like, "Mid Morning", "Late Afternoon". I have included a visual of Sunrise, Sunset, and the Moon for an info-graphic of how the day passes. This can help with teaching Autistic Children the general terminology for the different parts of the day, and how to identify the parts of the day.
