Description

The following lesson has been developed to illustrate the experience of first nations students within residential schools. It examines the experience of students in school with regard to topics such as academics, chores, culture loss, isolation, diet, clothing, and loss of identity.


The lesson is delivered via powerpoint. It includes reference to the story of Chanie Wenjack (ie. secret path). Other formats are included for your use including PDF handouts, video format of the lesson, and a google slide.


Format: google slide, powerpoint, video format, with PDF handouts in a zip file.
