Description
It is so important for students with special needs to understand their disabilities and what rights they have. We need to start teaching them to self- advocate and understand themselves better. This lesson was designed to do just that. The students will learn more about themselves and what makes them so special. They will learn about the different sections of their I.E.P., their strengths and weaknesses, accommodations and supports, goals, and future plans. I have provided lesson notes on how I did this project, a parent note to send home, a disability research hand-out, a words to know page, and a grading rubric for the students to follow along with.
