Eager to stretch the minds of your students?
Want them to be able to learn how to hypothesize a scientific wonder?
This does just that! And More!
This listing contains a LIFE-SIZE T-REX Footprint that measures 33 1/4” wide, and 42” long.
You will absolutely LOVE this resource!
Both my wife and I are Special Education/Life Skills Teachers, and we are constantly trying new ways to engage our students. One of the best ways we have found is to create lessons that are interactive and hands-on.
This Life-Size T-Rex footprint introduces students to the scientific method, and helps reinforce the idea of what a hypothesis is.
We tape it together from the backside, then tape it to the floor for the students to bunch together on the footprint to see how many of their feet it takes to fill the footprint.
- This resource comes complete with worksheets and a fact sheet.
- It also contains resources that are adapted for the Special Education classroom.
- Within this resource, there are shoe printouts of various makes, models, and kids' sizes to ensure social distancing.
- There are three different footprints to choose from, the woodland background model, the 3D Earth model, and the Black and white model. All of them come with super easy-to-understand instructions for assembly (we have our students piece it together).
- There are also two separate question and hypothesis posters to help guide the students in their quest for more knowledge (see the listing pictures).
Since the emergence of COVID-19, we have the students remove their shoes and place them in the footprint alongside each other (it often requires the addition of the teacher's shoes, which the students find very amusing...we wear dinosaur socks on that day).
Once pieced together, we have used it laminated and un-laminated.
This also works great as a wall poster. Whenever we finish our unit on dinosaurs, we typically just clean it, then hang it on the wall.
