What educators are saying

I used this resource to help a student with letter discrimination. They worked well. Thank you for your hard work.
My students are beginning to learn letters I like how the pictures made it easy for students to identify if they have matched the correct lower case and capital letters.

Description

This uppercase and lowercase letter matching activity is perfect for Pre-K, Kindergarten and beginner-level ESL newcomers.

Students will match two cards to form a whole picture and identify the matching uppercase and lowercase letters. They then record the letters and the word on their activity sheet.

This activity provides practice with letter recognition, matching uppercase and lowercase letters and tracing and/or writing uppercase and lowercase letters and basic vocabulary words (apple, cat, bee etc).

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

  • 52 alphabet cards in color and in black and white (one uppercase and one lowercase card for each letter of the alphabet)
  • Recording worksheets- two versions provided to allow for differentiation
  • Teacher Notes with instructions and ideas for using the cards in your classroom

USE FOR:

  • Phonics Center Activity- Students work individually or in small groups to find the matching uppercase and lowercase letters.
  • Active Matching Game- Hand out all the cards and have students roam the room to find the student with the matching uppercase or lowercase letter until all matches have been made.
  • Memory Game- Use the cards to play a game of Memory or Concentration.

COLOR AND B&W VERSIONS

The letter matching cards are provided in two different versions: a color version and a black and white version. The colored version has been provided to make bright and engaging cards. The black and white version is provided as a more cost-effective way of printing the cards. The black and white cards look great when printed on bright color paper!
