Description

Are you looking for letter formation mats and worksheets that also help teach beginning sounds? This trace and write letters of the alphabet activity is a great center for your kindergarten or first grade children learning to write the letters of the alphabet.

Each page has an upper and lowercase letter with 3 pictures for the beginning sound. This allows you to work on specific letters at a time with the children. The pictures on the mat can also help with learning each letter’s beginning sound (except for Xx, the ending sound is represented).

Children will trace the letters, and then practice writing them on their own on the lines. Simply print and laminate the colored pages or place in a protective sleeve for a center you can use year after year with dry erase markers. The black and white pages can be sent home for practice or used at a center as well.

This resource covers the following standards: CCSS L.K.1.a, L.1.1.a; TEKS LA.K.2.E; VASOL W.K.10.a, W.1.11.a
