Description

Cooperative Learning | Teach to Learn | Group Teaching

This collaborative learning project puts the information in the hands of the students and asks them to come up with a creative way to teach their assigned information to their peers in class.

When the students teach information to the class, they become masters of that information. Student engagement is also increased when peers are involved in the teaching of information.

This project is designed for use with a section or chapter of your class textbook. Students are assigned to groups, and it is the responsibility of each student group to teach their assigned chapter/section to the class in a manner of their choosing.

They also practice refining important skills such as research, public speaking, and organization. Within each group, students are assigned individual jobs. This individual accountability will prevent one student from doing too much or too little. This project correlates directly to many of the speaking and listening standards of the Common Core.

You'll receive:
A lesson plan with rationale and instructions, a detailed student handout for replication, and a rubric to use when grading.
