Description

These digital science activities cover how to find, measure, and understand inches, feet, yards, millimeters centimeters, meters, and kilometers.

This digital resource uses Google Slides™ and can be used on Google Classroom and Google Drive. This resource also includes an answer key.

This product includes:

  • Drag-&-drop: sort the units of measurement into correct categories if metric or U.S. Customary

Metric system

  • Fill-in-the-blank: write the best unit of measurement for each picture
  • Drag-&-drop: sort the pictures if the best unit of measurement is millimeters, centimeters, meters, or kilometers
  • Short answer: 2 pages of measure each object with the ruler on the screen in centimeters (cm)
  • Short answer: use your ruler to find measurements in the classroom using centimeters
  • Short answer: metric system conversion

U.S. Customary system

  • Fill-in-the-blank: write the best unit of measurement for each picture
  • Drag-&-drop: sort the pictures if the best unit of measurement is inches, feet, yards, or miles
  • Short answer: 2 pages of measure each object with the ruler on the screen in the nearest inch
  • Short answer: 2 pages of measure each object with the ruler on the screen in the nearest half inch
  • Short answer: 2 pages of measure each object with the ruler on the screen in the nearest fourth inch
  • Short answer: use your ruler to find measurements of your body using inches
  • Short answer: U.S. Customary system conversion

This resource works great with laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks. If using iPads, the Google Slides app will give you the best experience.

Measure to determine how much longer one object is than another, expressing the length difference in terms of a standard length unit.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units-whole numbers, halves, or quarters.
