Lección: Mi comunidad

This lesson is about the self and the self within different communities (i.e., school, family, sports teams, etc.). Teachers will lead and guide the students through a series of language acquisition exercises. In the first exercise, the teacher and students work together to compile a list of communities, adjectives that describe those communities, and actions that one does/performs in those communities. During the first exercise, the teacher should point out noun/adjective agreement and note the ending in the first person singular for the present tense. In the second exercise, the students will listen to other students describe their communities. In the third exercise, the students will answer comprehension questions about what they heard in the audio recordings from exercise two. In exercise four, students will brainstorm ideas about their own communities, using the audios from exercise two as a guide. In the final exercise, students will write a formal paragraph about their communities -- they will also record their paragraphs to encourage correct pronunciation.
