Description

This lesson is ideal for celebrating Black History Month, introducing world drumming techniques, or just for a fun activity!

Students will receive a brief introduction to the origins of the djembe drum and learn two different ways to play it. Then, they will apply what they have learned with easy to follow, low-prep rhythmic patterns to accompany Bill Withers' "Lean On Me" using drums.

Note: mp3 of song not included. I play the YouTube video for my students to accompany.
