La francophonie BUNDLE - Introduction to Francophone Countries & Cultures

French class isn't just about grammar and vocabulary. French class is all about broadening your Core French or French Immersion students' horizons to the beauty and depth and breadth of the francophone world! This is the bundle you need to introduce your students all about a DIVERSE francophonie! Students will learn about francophone regions worldwide (not just France), cultures, traditions/celebrations and so much more!

This bundle is a GROWING bundle. This means that MORE resources will added to it as I create them. If you purchase at the current price, you will be able to download all newly added products for free! Please note, however, that there is NO timeline as to when products will be added.

Units included:

1. Famous Canadian francophones - students will learn all about a number of famous Canadian francophones and create a bunting flag on one of their choice. The francophones included are all super diverse.

2. Les régions francophones - students will learn all about francophone regions throughout the world and complete a flag activity where they research one francophone place in the world.

3. Les célébrations francophones - students will discover the different celebrations and traditions that occur in different francophone regions throughout the world. Students will finish the mini-unit by creating a foldable on one celebration.

4. Petit-déjeuner autour de la francophonie - breakfast is most important meal of the day! Students will read about typical breakfast dishes eaten at the start of a day throughout the francophone world.

5. French slang unit - students will learn all about the popular French slang called verlan and the role verlan plays in the hybrid identities of French youth of colour. The will learn all about the marginalization of people in colour in France and the systems and institutions that oppress minorities.

6. French Music unit - students will discover famous francophone songs and artists in this unit. They will be hooked to French music by the end of the unit!

7. La francophonie trivia - test how much your students actually know about the francophone world! This is a super fun and engaging game for French class!

8. Les plats typiques reading - students will read about several beloved and diverse dishes consumed by francophones all over the world!

9. Les desserts francophones reading - a meal isn't complete without dessert? This is a beginner-friendly French reading comprehension reading where students will read about delicious francophone desserts!
