Did you know June is LGBT Pride month? Display these posters to learn about some of the inspirational LGBT+ people that influenced our history. LGBT Pride is the positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, queer people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, build community, increase their visibility as a social group, and celebrate sexual diversity and gender variance. LGBT Pride Month is celebrated in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan.
50+ posters of LGBT+ frontrunners, activists, and supporters from the past to present are represented in this product. I tried to represent different people of ethnic origins and some famous LGBT people from other others outside of America.
On every poster is the person's name, years lived, photograph, and mini biography.

I made these posters for my students to see how many LGBT+ people have made a difference in our country and world. I have chosen people from all kinds of fields - education, government, the arts, sports, science, activists, etc. I included many of the famous, well-known LGBT+ who contributed to American history, but I've also included contemporary LGBT+ like Chris Colfer and Laverne Cox.
*In the biographies, I mention what that person identifies as. Please advise when reading and sharing this information with younger audiences.
