This is my second Unit for teaching Simple & Powered Machines

This worksheet is aimed primarily at younger learners but can be adapted to be suitable for older students easily.

- Build a crane that uses a pulley

- A challenge to use our knowledge to create our own pulley mechanisms!

Suggested Schedule

The worksheet was designed to be used over a period of about 5 hours of class time.

• 1 hour - Explore subject and do pages 1-5
• 1 hour - Experiment build examples on page 6 of workbook and play with them
• 1.5 hours - Build the fan and experiment while completing pages 7-8
• 1.5 hours - Create: Students work to create their pulley mechanisms in teams page 9 and 10
