Description

This is a ten part literature circle packet, made specifically to go with the novel Kingdom Keepers Disney After Dark by Ridley Pearson, to be done in a span of 8-9 weeks. My goal in creating this product was to minimize the need for any other resource while conducting your novel study.

The parts one and two contain weekly literature circle reading assignments, as well as weekly literature circle roles. The reading assignments are broken up into a seven week span, and the last one or two weeks of the literature circle study can be used for finishing up the last eight sections of the packet.

If you do not want to take 7 weeks to read the book, you can double up the assignments each week in order to finish reading sooner. For example, I usually have my students' reading assignments due on Friday, but you could have one reading assignment due on Wednesday, and the next one due on Friday. It is totally up to you!
The roles that are included in the packet are as follows:
Artful Artist
Character Captain
Word Detective
Idea Connector
Summarizer/Story Mapper
Literary Luminary.

Each week, each person in the literature circle group has a different role, so by the end of the book each student will have completed each literature circle role in their packet. Each role sheet also includes a place to write a discussion question and a prediction for the week.

Parts three through ten of the literature circle packet are sections that can be completed as the book is being read. They are broken up as follows:
Part 3: Focus on setting
Part 4: Focus on a main character
Part 5: Focus on the narrative point of view of the novel
Part 6: Focus on the conflict, protagonist, and antagonist of the novel
Part 7: Identify the themes within the novel
Part 8: Reference and Research a topic from the book
Part 9: Creative projects
Part 10: Accelerated Reader test information and score

Purchase also includes grading rubric.
