What educators are saying

This is AMAZING. I struggle with coming up with lessons that are vertically aligned in small groups, this has helped tremendously. My only thing is it does take a while to set up completely, but it is worth it
This is a great resource. I used it when I taught kindergarten for small groups and stations. Now I teach 1st and am able to us it for my differentiation in small groups and many other ways.

Description

Kindergarten Small Group Guided Math is packed with engaging activities to help your little mathematicians gain a deeper understanding of mathematics.

For these units, we used the CPA approach which was developed by Jerome Bruner.

Research has shown that it is a highly effective approach to teaching that develops a deep and sustainable understanding of math. Using the CPA method (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) students are given the opportunity to experiment with mathematics in a variety of ways. We used this method as we developed the lessons in this unit.

These units can be taught in any order to fit your needs. Each lesson has a variety of activities to choose from. See the preview for more details.

Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
